“Dixie Due” is the pet of the week at your Rancho Coastal Humane Society. She’s a 10 year old, 44 pound, Labrador Retriever mix.
Dixie is one of the senior dogs at the shelter. Even though she has some gray on her face, she still has the energy and playful personality of a puppy. She definitely doesn’t act her age. In fact, she’s kind of a show-off when it comes to doing tricks and meeting people. She gets along fine with other dogs, but would probably prefer to be the only dog living in her new home. She’ll need a family that will keep her active. She gets along fine with kids that are a little bit older.
Dixie Due was transferred to Rancho Coastal Humane Society through the Friends of County Animal Shelters program from a Mississippi animal sanctuary.
Dixie Due’s $75 adoption fee includes medical exam, vaccinations, spay, and microchip. Find your best friend at Rancho Coastal Humane Society at 389 Requeza Street in Encinitas or log on to SDpets.org. Call 760-753-6413 for more information. Kennels and Cattery open 11 AM to 5 PM, Wednesday through Monday.
