‘Earth Day’ Cut-A-Thon Fundraiser a Success!

WHO:   Gila Rut Aveda Salons (Torrey Hills location) will host a local ‘Earth Day Cut-A-Thon’ to benefit the Surfrider Foundation/San Diego Chapter in its local effort to protect the ocean, beaches and waves.  Gila Rut is part of a global fundraising initiative by Aveda Salons throughout the world to raise money for ‘clean water’.

WHEN:  Monday, April 22, 2013 from 1 p.m. – 7 p.m.  (family-convenient hours)

• 1 pm:  Special Cut-A-Thon Kick-Off Presentation (10 mins):  Photo Ops.
• Welcome Remarks from Keri Davis and Karla Lopez-Martinez, Co-owners of Gila Rut Aveda Salons in Torrey Hills, Hillcrest and Otay Ranch locations
• Thank You Remarks from Adam Kennedy, representing Aveda Corporation and Surfrider Foundation.

WHAT:   Gila Rut Aveda Salons stylists will participate in a global ‘Earth Day Cut-A-Thon’ among Aveda stylists from Tokyo to Sydney, Moscow to London, and New York to San Diego!  Public (all ages) invited to join the fun and cause by getting a haircut for only $20.  No appointment; first-come, first-served; 15-min intervals.  Enjoy stress-relieving hand and shoulder massages!

Gila Rut has again selected its local ‘Earth Month Partner’ to be the Surfrider Foundation/San Diego Chapter.  They will receive 100 % of the proceeds raised on Earth Day, April 22 to support its mission of ‘protection and enjoyment of oceans, waves and beaches through a powerful activist network’.   This is Gila Rut Salons’ 7th year hosting an ‘Earth-Day-Cut-A-Thon’ as a company-wide fundraiser — plus other promos during April/Earth Month to help achieve their goal total of $7,000.
