Live It: We All Have a Story, the Difference is How You Live It!

Healthy Top Chef Anna Allen paired up with Jeans 4 Justice, a non-profit social change organization dedicated to putting an end to sexual and relationship violence, Wednesday, June 27th, 2012 for an amazing night of food, fun, and fundraising!  Residents all over San Diego County came together to enjoy a night of delicious farm-to-table cuisine, live music and the chance to not only mingle with great company, but to give back to a great organization.

The event, Eat For Justice, is actually an offspring of a new campaign Jeans 4 Justice recently launched called Live It: We All Have a Story, The Difference is How You Live It.  This campaign is centered on individuals choosing a personal challenge and then using that challenge as a way to overcome fears, experience new adventures and become a part of a meaningful community.  Part of the Jeans for Justice mission, founded by Jess Johnson is to focus on empowering young people to choose love over fear and peace over violence, as a result, creating communities free of sexual violence.

The night kicked off with all attendees standing in a circle and holding hands for a blessing to express gratitude for all those who put their energy and spirit into supporting the Jeans for Justice cause.  Guests were then able to try the delicious concoctions of Anna Naturalista, of Delicious Nutrition, including Summer Slaw Salad and Summer Harvest Garden Paella.  Anna uses her recipes to make the most simple of foods taste amazing and is a major supporter of using organic, fresh, ingredients from local farms.  As a result, Anna helps people regain their health and well-being, while at the same time sustaining the health of our planet and society as a whole.

After dinner, guests spent the rest of the night mingling with others, listening to great music and some even got groovy with the live drum circle and sacred movement dance jam!  To say the event was a success would be saying it lightly, as over $1700 was raised through tickets and donations.

Be sure to check out the next event, challenge yourself daily and help support a great cause.   To learn more about this amazing organization, visit jeans4justice.org, or like them on Facebook.  You can also visit Top Chef, Anna Naturalista’s Facebook to find tasty and healthy recipes!
