“Love Across The World” Rancho Coastal Humane Society asking public help for Australia

Encinitas, CA –  Twenty percent of the fee or every pet adopted from your Rancho Coastal Humane Society now through Valentine’s Day and 100% of the fee for Senior pets will be donated to help the animal victims of the Australian Bushfires. RCHS is inviting animal lovers, friends, and supporters to join in this effort by donating to this lifesaving effort.

The funds will go to WIRES (New South Wales “Wildlife Information, Rescue, and Education Services”), a non-profit wildlife rescue organization in Australia that is rescuing and caring for thousands of sick, injured, and orphaned native animals.

“We’ve seen estimates that nearly a billion animals have died because of the bushfires,” says RCHS spokesman John Van Zante. “Our goal is to help save the animals who have survived the fires and now need medical treatment or need to be transported to safe areas where they can begin to rebuild the animal population.”

There will be no administrative fees taken by RCHS. Twenty percent of the fee for every standard adoption, 100% of the adoption fee for senior pets, and 100% of the donations made by the public to help the animal victims of the Australian Bushfires will go to WIRES on Valentine’s Day. They will be able to put the money to work immediately.

WIRES has more than 2,500 volunteers in 28 branches. The organization receives around 170,000 calls each year and assists tens of thousands of native animals. Charity Navigator describes WIRES as a highly-rated organization that is delivering aid and support to communities affected by the Australian fires.

Rancho Coastal Humane Society is one of only five working animal shelters in the United States to earn a perfect, 100 point score from Charity Navigator. Van Zante says, “San Diegans trust RCHS. They can trust WIRES to use their donations wisely.”
