On Monday, October 28th the Morgan Run Club & Resort hosted the first annual Swing for Autism Golf Classic. The 27-hole championship Rancho Santa Fe golf course was the perfect place to host this event. The event started with a round of golf at noon; golfers enjoyed the driving range, short game area, and the putting greens. Participants were provided with range balls, green fees, 18 holes of golf with a cart, and a boxed lunch. Guests that were not going to participate in the golf rounds were invited to arrive after 4:00 end enjoy cocktails on the outdoor patio and watch the helicopter ball drop, before the dinner and awards. If guests wanted to arrive even earlier Morgan Run had partnered with Include Autism to offer their guests discount hotel rooms and spa packages.
After the great rounds of golf, guests enjoyed the cocktail hour and an attractive selection of silent auction items from the Morgan Run Pro Shop, Taylormade, and Callaway. The guests enjoyed a delicious dinner prepared by Chef Aldo Negrete, famous throughout San Diego for his work in Whisknladle. While enjoying their dinner, guests listened to awards and scoring results from that days rounds of golf. This event raised essential funds for Include Autism’s Community Coaching Program, to provide financial relief to families for program related expenses. This program and the families that it supports could not endure without this incredible help. This was an ideal platform to showcase your community involvement; the Golf Classic was attended by an array of generous community leaders and San Diego business owners. Through the participants’ efforts and generous support they can continue in their efforts to provide program services that help children affected by autism, so that they can lead lives as active participants in their community.

Name: Santiago Benito
School: Canyon Crest Academy
Dream: Santiago hopes to one day become a documentary film director and producer. He also hopes to write and make Hollywood films.
Interests: He enjoys reading almost as much as he enjoys writing; my favorite book is The Life of Pi by Yann Martel. Santiago have had an interest in the art of cinema ever since he could remember. From an early age, Santiago has been mesmerized by the beauty of the lines said and the actors on the big screen. While many kids have a hard time trying to figure out what they want to do after they get out of school, Santiago knew right off the bat that he wanted to be involved in the world of cinema somehow. Aside from that, he enjoys playing basketball and spending time with family and friends. In addition, Santiago is very interested in being involved in things much larger than himself. For example, he is a part of many non-profit organizations whose goals are to help people and communities all over the world (i.e. Japan, Africa, and the Untied States).
Journey: He was born in San Diego on August 14, 1998 and has had a wonderful life growing up in the Carmel Valley area.
