Opening Day – a National Holiday in San Diego!

Opening Day at the Del Mar Racetrack is like a national holiday in San Diego! It is the go to event of the season with residents all across San Diego making their way to the Del Mar Fairgrounds to mix and mingle, enjoy the races, and observe the fashion show passing by.  Men are dressed in their most dapper attire and the women are dressed to the nines from head to toe, showcasing their unique and amazing hats!

This year’s Opening Day was nothing short of amazing, attracting a record crowd of people ready to enjoy the day’s events.  In order to take full advantage of the day, Lucky 7 Match, a dating and networking group based in San Diego, offered a one-of-a kind racing experience full of fun and adventure.  For those singles who are looking to mingle and enjoy Opening Day, Lucky 7 Match offered two party buses, taking members from Mission Valley to the Racetrack, as well as a hosted bar on the party bus. Over 100 singles attended and everyone loved traveling to the races in style and the opportunity to let loose, dance and have some fun while on the bus.  In addition everyone attending was given VIP Clubhouse admission to the fairgrounds and entrance to the Ultimate Opening Day Private Party at Coors Pavilion.  It truly was a fun-filled, action packed event and who knows maybe some people met their lucky match!!!

Two of the most popular and exciting events of the day happened on the track with Midnight Crooner and My Best Brother both being big winners and taking home divisions of the $109,300 Oceanside Stakes.  As opening day marks the beginning of racing season, there will be a lot more exciting races to come!!!
