Protecting our Beaches: Surfrider Foundation’s Art Gala

As an estate planner, I often get to see the benefits of charitable giving, and have been inspired to become involved with my local community and to start charitable giving efforts myself.  Being a coastal resident of San Diego and frequent visitor of our beaches, it was only natural for me to volunteer with the Surfrider Foundation San Diego Chapter.

Carmel Valley San Diego Community | Christine Ellingsen | Art Gala PosterI’m excited for this year’s 13th Annual Art Gala on Friday, May 10th from 6-10 pm at Paradise Point Resort & Spa!  This is the Surfrider Foundation San Diego Chapter’s biggest fundraiser of the year and all of the proceeds from this event will help support their mission of protecting the oceans, waves and beaches.  The evening will include silent and live auctions of artwork, surf gear and other luxury items, coupled with awareness, awards, food and beverages provided by Paradise Point, Jimbo’s Naturally, Stone Brewing Company and Barefoot Wine.  The event will feature new artists, live artists, an interactive art project, and live music from Casey Turner and Brett Dennen.  For a sneak peak at this year’s auction items, check out the Art Gala Blog.

If you share my same passion for our coast, please visit http://sandiego.surfrider.org/ for more information on the event and the Surfrider Foundation.
