Community Bank Takes Part in “Toys for Joy”

Toys for Joy is an annual event, founded by Miles McPherson, the Senior Pastor of the Rock Church, founder of Miles Ahead and author of Do Something! Make Your Life Count.  Christmas is a time for celebrating.  For some, it is a time of plenty.  However, many right in our town, will not know the incredible blessings that most of us take for granted.

The Rock Church partners with schools, businesses and community organizations, as well as local churches to coordinate the event.  Toys for Joy seeks to impact the lives of children by pouring out love and blessings upon them.  Last year Toys for Joy provided over 10,000 toys, 14,000 bags of groceries, and 196,000 articles of clothing and shoes.

This 17th year anniversary event also featured a food court, entertainment, face painting, free haircuts, and a visit from Santa!  They also raffled off over 100 bicycles to kids!  One person, Miles, had a vision 17 years ago, and has made an impact on many children’s lives every year with the assistance and cooperation of others.  We can all make difference in this world, one person at a time.
