3 Quick, Easy Things Carmel Valley Moms Can Do to Be Happier & Healthier This Week!

As we are rounding out May, it seems appropriate that we take a final moment to really thank and appreciate all our Carmel Valley Moms.  As I get older, Mother’s Day is one of my treasured holidays because I often get so busy in my life, that I forget to smell the roses and thank the people who have loved me, cherished me, molded me, and sacrificed so much for me.

As mothers, many women put themselves last.  I see it everywhere!  Our clients at Fit in 60 Pilates and Barre often come in and tell me about the countless soccer games, dance recitals, and more that they have been attending all weekend.  Or that they don’t have time for their workout because of all the school committees, activities, etc.  But yet – most of these Carmel Valley Moms wouldn’t have it ANY OTHER WAY!  They realize that their time with their kids is short, and they want to enjoy every moment.

But then, they wake up one day and realize just how bad they feel – maybe physically or emotionally!  Self care is something that just fell by the wayside.

So, here are three SIMPLE and QUICK things you can do to improve self care and be healthier and happier in just one day!

  1. Carmel Valley San Diego Community | Amy Mewborn | Glass of WaterDrink More Water.  By drinking water, you will be more full, and your body will more quickly process its food and waste leaving you cleaner inside and out!  You will have more energy and feel less bloated and heavy!
  2. Skip the processed foods.  If you experience mood swings, I challenge you to look at your diet.  A diet high in processed foods, causes your blood sugar to spike and fall, causing your moods to spike and fall.  Or if you’re like me – a diet high in gluten seriously plays with my moods to a point of full blown depression!  Keep some fruit, veggies and hummus, or nuts on you at all times to ensure that you are eating as healthy as possible – in just minutes.
  3. Take an hour each day for yourself.  Fit in 60 is designed based on the life changes we can make in less than 60 minutes each day!  Whether it be a massage, a workout, or an hour out to lunch with a friend, allocate just 60 minutes to yourself each day for improved mental clarity and emotional wellness!

Remember – if you are healthy and happy, you are better equipped to be present and supportive of your children!!
