FIDF to Host 2nd Annual Guys Night Out Poker Tournament

SAN DIEGO, CA – On Thursday, June 7^th 2012, the San Diego chapter of Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF) will host their second annual Guys Night Out at the Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines.

In addition to the signature poker tournament that serves as the main event at the Guys Night Out fundraiser, guests will also enjoy a myriad of sports theme activities as they raise money to support the soldiers of the Israel Defense Forces.

“Hit the poker tables, enter the ping-pong or basketball throw competitions, or just relax with friends in the sport lounge.  Whether you are a poker player or not, young or old, there is something for everyone at this event,” said Dan Feder, event co-chair and FIDF board member.  “This year we have some unbelievable prizes to give away.  You could win a Napa Valley Weekend Getaway valued at $10,000, including travel for two on a private jet.”

Not only is Guys Night Out an entertaining affair, it also helps to increase awareness for the FIDF and raise money for their cause. Impressively, FIDF, an organization that provides a range of programs that address the needs of the IDF soldiers and their families, donates 100% of the money raised at events like this directly to their charity.

“We hosted the first Guys Night Out last year in memory of my father, Mr. David Feder, who proudly served in an IDF Paratrooper Brigade,” said Feder.  “The event was such a huge success.  Everyone had a wonderful time and we raised $40,000 for the IMPACT Scholarship to provide a former combat soldier with the opportunity for a higher education.”
