Carmel Valley Teens to Make Suspenseful Short Film

Santiago Benito, and Tyler Chase have begun principle photography for their short film Pacific Brotherhood (not set name). Santiago takes you behind the scenes to get a first look at the making of their short film. Based on an original screenplay by
Carmel Valley student Santiago Benito (A horrific night) and adapted for film by Tyler Chase. All the makers of this film are working under the name Life Like Films a production company founded by Nate Goodman. The story is a very dark one with suspenseful themes of peer pressure and an overall message that makes the audience question themselves. This film is being produced for the
2014 CCA Film Festival as well as the Loyola Film Festival where High school students across the nation are invited to submit their best films in hopes of coming home with one of the many prizes being offered.
The films will be reviewed by a panel of judges including writer/director Jordan Roberts (Frankie Go Boom, Around the Bend) and actor Michael O’Neill (Transformers, Dallas Buyers Club). The event will be held on Saturday, May 17, at 7:30 pm. The event will include a Q&A with three time Academy Award nominated producer and President of Production at Columbia Pictures, Michael De Luca (Captain Phillips, The Social Network), the event will be held at 1901 Venice Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90006 .
This high quality film has themes of pressure as well as the struggles of having a low social economic class. The Life Like Films production company works on not only short films but also work as personal cinematographers. The experience gained from doing short films like this and entering film festivals is priceless. You meet such great quality people and get good comments and criticism and it builds a filmmaker and makes him or her stronger.

Interests: He enjoys reading almost as much as he enjoys writing; my favorite book is The Life of Pi by Yann Martel. Santiago have had an interest in the art of cinema ever since he could remember. From an early age, Santiago has been mesmerized by the beauty of the lines said and the actors on the big screen. While many kids have a hard time trying to figure out what they want to do after they get out of school, Santiago knew right off the bat that he wanted to be involved in the world of cinema somehow. Aside from that, he enjoys playing basketball and spending time with family and friends. In addition, Santiago is very interested in being involved in things much larger than himself. For example, he is a part of many non-profit organizations whose goals are to help people and communities all over the world (i.e. Japan, Africa, and the Untied States).
