On Friday, Feb. 20, Dons alumni returned to Cathedral Catholic High School (CCHS) campus to share their career stories and achievements with the senior class for the school’s annual Career Day.
Among a distinguished panel of San Diego professionals and Dons alumni was Define Financial CEO Taylor Schulte, CFP®. A 2015 Metro Mover and Five Star Wealth Manager, Schulte graduated CCHS in 2003 and started his company in 2014, after years of working at Morgan Stanley and opening the San Diego branch for Beverly Hills Wealth Management.
All the five panelists shared their professional journeys with the graduating class and offered sound advice for a successful future. Some of the common themes included finding a mentor and building a strong professional network. Another piece of advice was to create a solid educational and professional foundation so that there are plenty of opportunities, should one decide to change their career path in the future. Schulte also discussed the importance of work experience. He recommended that, in addition to college, students get involved with organizations, volunteer and get an internship, when possible.
