In March of 2011, David A. Moya and his wife Kari, took a trip to San Diego to figure out where they would begin laying their roots as a family. In search for a place that emphasized family, education and health, they stumbled upon Carmel Valley San Diego and immediately fell in love with the community. Please continue reading below…
As a business-owner, David wanted to show the community that he wasn’t here just to “get business.” He wanted to demonstrate his commitment to his new community by giving first, and by becoming a more vested community member. The best way David thought he could accomplish this and simultaneously get to know Carmel Valley, was to interview, blog and write about the people, businesses, events and activities that took place in the community. After some time, his efforts began to catch the interest of several individuals and he was approached by some of them to see how they could get involved. He realized then that this had the potential to be bigger than just a blog, and that this wasn’t something that only he had a passion for. It turned out that the entire community was hungry for an opportunity to create a greater sense of community from the inside out.
How Will The Carmel Valley Life Make a Difference?
Purpose: to serve as an example of what it means to be a community.
Mission: to create a movement of meaningfully contributing to our community by creating a resourceful site of valuable content that is managed and run by its community members.
Vision: to challenge the community to directly get involved in the development and continuation of the site by 1) sharing stories that inspire, 2) create projects that bring the community together to demonstrate compassion, and 3) unite in joint efforts to create an even better community.
Beyond Just Ourselves: to bring self-sustainability and self-sufficiency to communities that lack the ability to provide for the health and well-being of their members. Please see “Project Give.”
Imagine if we could create a place where the community could 1) share stories that inspire, 2) create projects that bring the community together to demonstrate compassion, and 3) unite in joint efforts to create an even better community to serve as an example to the rest of the Country. That is what Carmel Valley Life is all about. In addition, we hope to create a movement that will impact our community in a positive way by creating a resourceful site of valuable content that is managed and run by its community members. The belief is that the more connected a community is, the better quality of life it can provide its members, and the stronger it will become as a whole.
