Real Living Lifestyles does more than just sell homes and provide great customer service. They strongly believe in giving back to the community and making the communities around them better. This past weekend Real Living Lifestyles hosted their 11th Annual Community Service Day Fair in the parking lot of the Torrey Hills Shopping Center. The event was nothing short of amazing, and really showed the community of Carmel Valley coming together for a greater good!
Real Living Lifestyles teamed up with Friends and Family Community Connection to put together over 50,000 food packets to give to the hungry, not just in San Diego but all over the world. The annual event brought in over two hundred volunteers who worked together in an assembly-line fashion to put together these food packets, and spread some good old community cheer. It truly was a great sight to see so many community members of all different ages and races working together in such a spirited fashion.
In addition to the food packing assembly line, there were various organizations with booths such as the Helen Woodward Animal Center, Leez PJ’s for Kids, Red Nose Run 3-5K sign-up benefiting Fresh Start Surgical Gifts, Semper Fi Charity and Rady’s Children’s Hospital. Community members were encouraged to bring pajamas, crayons, art supplies and canned goods in support of these charities and those going through a difficult time.
The Community Service Day Fair really was an event that allowed people of all ages to pay it forward and give back to their community. The Torrey Hills Shopping Center helped provide a fun Kids Korner, where they could enjoy a bouncy house, face painting and even a popcorn machine. This was definitely a hit amongst the younger volunteers, as well as the coloring station where they were able to color and write messages to the children who will be the cards they were making were going to the children at Rady’s Children’s Hospital along with donations of color books, games, and crayons! There’s no denying that this event really brought together all of the community, from young to old, and all ages in between.
If you missed out on this year’s event, you will definitely want to participate next year. Seeing the community come together for a greater good is truly a heart touching experience.
A HUGE Thanks to the Torrey Hills Center merchants for their cooperation before and during the event. Another big thank you to Von’s for helping FFCC load and unload the food content boxes, and BBQ Republic for giving our leader volunteers a very appreciated discount on food for the day.
