Del Mar Beach Welcomes Visitors 365 Days of the Year
The beach in Del Mar is one of the most beautiful and enjoyable in San Diego. The two plus miles of sandy beach offers a great place to relax, walk, or run. This area is home to many Triathletes – and why not – here you can train 365 days of the year!!
The two coastal parks, Powerhouse and Seagrove Parks, are located just above the Fifteenth Street surf break; providing a great spot to picnic with friends and family. Seagrove park is a very popular spot for weddings and many couples are married here throughout the year which is always fun to watch. There is a great park for the kids with an amazing view of the ocean. It’s one of the most scenic and beautiful children’s parks I’ve ever seen. Definitely worth checking out!
When all the fun in the sun gets to be too much you can head over to The Poseidon or Jakes for a beach side meal or cocktail. Both of these restaurants are very popular and offer a varied menu of seafood, steak and other fancy treats. Enjoying the sunset at their entertaining happy hours is always a great way to end the day.
North Beach, affectionately called “Dog Beach” by dog owners, is located north of 29th Street and stretches nearly one half mile to our border with Solana Beach. This beach host the Doggie Surf Competition every year which is always a crowd pleaser.
I hope you’ve enjoyed just a quick glimpse into what a special area this is. You really have to see it for yourself and once you have, I’m sure you’ll agree with me 🙂
