Starting Summer off Right: Catch a Wave with Fulcrum Surf

With summer just starting off and the kids being out of school, what better way to keep them entertained and out of trouble than to send them to surf school.  But you don’t want to send them to just any surf school.  It has to be one that has excellent instruction, mixes in fun and games, and most of all keeps your children safe while out in the water.  And that’s where Fulcrum Surf School comes into the mix.

After traveling all over the world surfing the amateur and professional circuit, Dan Mori came back to his roots and opened up Fulcrum Surf School in 2003, after seeing a lack of qualified instructors at other surf schools.  Dan really emphasizes tailoring each lesson to the individual surfer’s goals and helping them work on achieving those goals.  In addition, Fulcrum Surf School only employs the most highly trained and professional staff, providing students with great instruction and motivation to get out there and ride some waves.

Besides private and semi-private lessons, Fulcrum Surf School is also well known for their amazing summer camp program held at 23^rd Street in Del Mar.  This summer camp really caters to those beginner and intermediate students, ages 6-17, who are interesting in surfing.  During this camp, students will learn about surf safety, ocean awareness as well as learn the fundamentals of beginning to surf.  The camp offers a student teacher ratio of 3:1, which really allows for the instructor to give undivided attention to the students to not only build their confidence in the water, but outside as well.

The summer surfing camp is a great opportunity to improve not only surfing skills, but also meet new friends and enjoy the beautiful beach.  Snacks, water, and equipment are provided and all students leave with an awesome goody bag including a picture of them surfing and items from Fulcrum’s sponsors.
