Heart of Leadership’s Back-to-School Panel Discussion on “School, Stress & Success” Featured Olympic Gold Medalist, Teen Author, Doctor, and Female Business Leader
On September 19th, 2013, San Diego-based non-profit, Heart of Leadership, kicked off the new school year with a panel discussion on “School, Stress & Success,” from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at Cathedral Catholic High School.
This event for young women, parents, and community members generated an innovative and empowering discussion on how teen girls can navigate the opportunities and challenges they face as they rise to leadership.

Daniel Friedland, MD: For more than a decade, Dr. Daniel Friedland has devoted himself to transforming the lives of healthcare providers and health seekers, as well as leaders and their organizations, with keynotes, workshops, coaching and online programs that integrate brain science, mindfulness and evidence-based medicine to:
Amanda Freed: Amanda Freed is recognized as a 2004 Olympic Gold Medalist in the sport of softball. Prior to her stint in Greece, Freed was named an Alternate, and youngest member, of the 2000 Olympic Softball team which went on to win Gold in Sydney, Australia. She was also a 2-time World Champion and Pan-American Gold Medalist during her 8-year run with USA Softball.
Ash Robinson: Ash Robinson is the Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director, Franchising of Kidville, a global brand with 40 locations worldwide. Kidville operates large, upscale facilities, catering to young children and their families. Ash sold her first company at age 26 and has been a successful entrepreneur throughout her young career. Ash is an advocate for young women in leadership and a Heart of Leadership Board Member. She is mother to her baby boy, Luka.
Zach Friedland: Zach Friedland, now 14, co-authored the book, The Big Decision, with his father to learn and teach others how to make good decisions in life. Part story, part framework, The Big Decision teaches adolescents, teens, parents, teachers, coaches and leaders how to make better life decisions.

Stephanie J. Armstrong: Stephanie Armstrong, has spoken to audiences totaling over 100,000 in middle schools and high schools throughout North America and abroad on the topics of body image, self esteem, girls in leadership, and making a difference. She earned a Masters of Science in Executive Leadership from the University of San Diego. Stephanie is the Founder and Executive Director of Heart of Leadership.
