The “Kit Kat Club” Gala – A Roaring Success

The most anticipated event of the year finally arrived and boy was it amazing.  On the evening of Saturday June 2^nd, 2012, the Helen Woodward Animal Center had it’s 24th Annual Spring Fling, with this years theme being the “Kit Kat Club.”  Hundreds of San Diego residents dressed up in their roaring 20’s getups, as they dined on delicious delicacies and listened to the smooth sounds of jazz.  But those with two feet weren’t the only guest’s in attendance, as the gala featured lots of fuzzy friends to warm the hearts of many with the hopes of being adopted into a good home.  Please continue reading below…

The night included a silent auction, with some amazing prizes being auctioned off, such as a getaway package to Napa Valley on a private jet.  The Sensation Show Band played some of their fine music to get guests on their feet, where they enthusiastically danced the night away.  New to this year’s event was casino gaming, where attendees got to try their luck at popular casino games like BlackJack and Poker!  After working up an appetite, guests headed on over to the restaurant stations to sample delicious menu items from over 20 amazing local restaurants, such as Poseidon and Café Merlot.  There truly was something for everyone to enjoy as the night went on.

The great thing about the “Kit Kat Club” Gala is that it really shows how the community comes together for a common good.  Not only were puppies being adopted throughout the night, but residents had the opportunity to mix and mingle with people and pets they hadn’t seen in a long time.  Just attending an event such as this one, guests can truly see just how true the Helen Woodward Animal Center’s motto is: “People helping animals and animals helping people”!!!  In addition, all of the money raised went towards providing care for orphaned animals at the Helen Woodward Center, as well as supporting all of the wonderful programs offered there, such as Therapeutic Riding and Pet Encounter Therapy.
