Lemonade Stands, Hair and My Fountain of Youth

Theres something about summer time that makes us feel and appear so relaxed…warm nights, backyard barbecues, less makeup and maxi dresses.

Last week I was enjoying a beautiful Sunday afternoon and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky. I hopped in the car and left to enjoy the day.  While driving, a beautiful beam of light caught my eye.  It was the most beautiful blonde hair I’ve ever seen.  And there she was.  My summer hair inspiration.

There were 3 precious young girls at the end of the street proudly selling lemonade at their lemonade stand.  The biggest smile came across my face and my heart melted.  The memories of being so young, having my own lemonade stand and the ambitious nature of these little ones right in front of me, just simply made my day.  The hair – that’s where I’m going with this.

When I think of youth, I think playful, carefree and breezy…just like summertime.  And the hair of little women, its just so hard to duplicate young mother nature, but its my job and my personal ambition to get real close!

Now, I have so much to draw from.  We all want highlights that look like the sun did it.  The “easy like Sunday morning hair.”  The beach waves, but from the actual ocean kind.  The “I just spent the summer in the Hamptons” hair or San Diego will do!

The fountain of youth, to me, is a happy carefree spirit.  Beauty definitely comes from within, but when you’re searching for that perfect color…take a look around you…  Do you really want to look like Jennifer Aniston?  I can absolutely recreate that but lets think outside the box.  Let’s imagine, be whimsical and play with your hair color.  Do something different!  Have fun with it.  I found the most beautiful sun kissed head of natural highlights on a child and the inspiration makes me think of easy summer days…barefoot and sandy beach days…  Next time you’re in as my guest, ask me for the Lemonade Stand color.  You’ll surely leave glowing, carefree and just a bit younger!
