Lyft Announces Driver Advisory Council in SD County

Today, Lyft is announcing the rollout of its Driver Advisory Council (DAC) in San Diego County, a driver community program designed to provide grassroots feedback and help inform Lyft’s decision making when it comes to drivers.

This initiative reaffirms the company’s commitment to its driver community – recently following an investment in Lyft Driver Services and ensures that even as Lyft enters into a new phase, drivers will continue to have a strong voice within the company.

Lyft was the first rideshare company to launch a DAC, and after seeing success in its national program, it’s now expanding DACs to more than 45 cities across North America. These councils offer great value to Lyft and the San Diego community – providing first-hand, grassroots feedback, serving as frontline ambassadors for the company and actively engaging with their local driver community.  Learn more: https://thehub.lyft.com/blog/announcing-your-local-dac.

From Lyft San Diego Market Manager Hao Meng: “We’re thrilled to bring the Driver Advisory Council to San Diego County, providing local drivers with the opportunity to make a true impact within the company. DAC members are often the most well-versed in the app, working with the driver and rider communities on a daily basis. We look forward to furthering our investment in the driver community through this program.”

From Local Lyft San Diego Driver Advisory Council member Jennifer Grapa (from Torrey Highlands): “I love connecting with people and helping them. I find that helping people get from Point A to Point B is so incredibly fulfilling. A lot of people, especially the elderly can’t drive anymore and they still want to go out, go shopping, go [get] groceries.”

From Local Lyft San Diego Driver Advisory Council member Victor Gonzalez (from Oceanside): “The very first passenger of every week, I give back $1 in cash. That not only puts a smile on their face, but it also blesses me to get many multiple tips within the app and in cash on a weekly basis.”
