Phonics Friday at Del Mar Preschool

Good morning. It’s Kristin Rude, Owner and Director of FasTracKids, Del Mar. Today is Phonics Friday. And so I thought I would share with all of you some of the fun things we do on Friday at our Del Mar preschool.

We also have somebody’s birthday today. Whose birthday is it, Juliet? It’s yours, right? And look at your lovely birthday crown.

Woman: How old are you?

Juliet: Four.

Kristin: Four and when is your birthday?

Juliet: Tomorrow.

Kristin: Tomorrow. Happy birthday.

Woman: Wonderful.

Kristin: We are celebrating letter “D” this week, so we’ve got the ducks out, the dominos and the dinosaurs this morning at warmup. Over at this table we have Jake from Jake and the Never Land Pirates. What are you decorating, Jake?

Jake: A lantern.

Kristin: A lantern. We learned about kid power versus electric power this week for technology and Serena, what are you doing? What are you decorating? Is that a birthday crown? We have another birthday. Serena’s birthday is this weekend, and we’re going to celebrate it on Monday. Happy birthday. Who’s going to find letter “D”. De-, De-, De, there’s one left. There it is. Press again. Good job! Juliet, go find us a dog, please. Where is the doggy? Okay, press again. Excellent, my friend.
