4 Simple Changes to Lose More Weight in the Next Sixty Days
At Fit in 60 Pilates and Barre, our focus is on TOTAL body transformation in less than 60 days!
If you feel like you are doing the work, but the scale isn’t moving, maybe you’re missing something small? I have struggled with my weight my entire life – and likely always will – but here are MY top four tips for transformation!
- How many times a week are you working out? If you really want to see weight loss – you MUST do something active at least three to four times a week. If you are really looking for transformation and weight loss – I feel very strongly that it is four to five times a week! You can’t do something (ANYTHING) only once or twice a week and expect to see change.
- Banish the booze! This is a tough one. It’s tough for me, and it’s tough for most of our clients! We often have clients come in and say that they work out specifically FOR their wine! And although the calories are an issue, I am less concerned about the calories from alcohol than what it does to your appetite and resolve. The alcohol makes your blood sugar spike, and then your body tells itself it wants more calories – normally making you reach for something else high in sugar and carbs.
- Drink MORE water! This is so huge, but is often completely ignored. Water plays so many roles in weight loss. First, it keeps you full. Often clients feel like they are hungry – but it’s really just that they are thirsty – so they take in calories they really didn’t need or want just because they misread the signals. But in addition, water is the key ingredient to your body detoxing itself. Water is involved in the body functions of cleaning out toxins and waste, and then taking those toxins and waste straight from the body!
- Keep the caffeine! Many detox plans suggest taking caffeine out of your diet for rapid weight loss. As a diuretic, it does slightly change your body’s ability to clean out its waste and toxins. However, if you are drinking enough water, this is easily overcome. But the place that caffeine really affects your weight loss is in the appetite suppressant, as well as the burst of energy it gives you – especially before a workout.

Originally from the Midwest, Amy moved to San Diego in 2001. A graduate of Valparaiso University, Amy had been a Financial Advisor since 1997. When Amy began taking Pilates with her neighbor Wendy, in 2006, she fell in love with the method and benefits of the program and knew she wanted to help others achieve their fitness goals. It was not until Amy took her first barre class that she discovered her true passion for fitness. She loved the challenge and energy of each class. And more importantly, she was excited by the results as her body became more toned than through any other workout routine she had tried in the past. Amy would be one of the best testimonials for Fit in 60 Pilates and Barre. In less than a month’s time, attending 4-5 classes a week, Amy went from a size 10/12 to a size 6. She came home one day and told her husband, Mike that “if every girl knew this, every girl would do it.” Amy is passionate about getting to know her clients and provide modifications and corrections to challenge every client, while making classes as safe as possible. Amy lives in Carlsbad with her husband, Mike, and her dog Emma. She loves what she does, and is thrilled to present the Fit in 60 workout to Carlsbad and Carmel Valley and is eager to help women look and feel great!
