Come and celebrate the Year of the Monkey with the San Diego Chinese Historical Museum. The San Diego Chinese Historical Museum is hosting a book reading and signing with Oliver Chin, the author of the Year of the Monkey: Tales from the Chinese Zodiac on Sunday, February 21st from 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm in the Chuang Archive and Learning Center. The Chuang Archive and Learning Center is located downtown at 541 B Second Avenue.
The Year of the Monkey: Tales from the Chinese Zodiac is the eleventh book out of a best-selling children’s book series of twelve that tells fascinating stories about each zodiac animal. This book is about the exciting adventure of Max, son of the famous Monkey King, a mythological character in the renowned classical Chinese novel: Journey to the West. After discovering a new sport with his fellow classmate, he strives to rise to the top and find his unique identity. With its bilingual English and Chinese text, it’s perfect for children of all ages who are interested in China or studying Chinese.
About the Author:
Oliver Chin is the author of the popular annual children’s book series Tales from the Chinese Zodiac. This remains the only series in English on the animals of the Lunar New Year, which is increasingly celebrated worldwide. He presents at schools, libraries, and museums nationwide and teaches artists of all ages how to create their own comic books.
