The Thriving Community of Pacific Highlands Ranch!

If I had to use one word to describe Pacific Highlands Ranch, it would be community. When my husband and I decide to move here almost 8 years ago, we toured the neighborhood and found a group of neighbors who were out having a street party. There were families, neighbors out talking, and kids playing and enjoying the day. At that moment I was sold. I think many other residents have had the same experience here. It’s a place where people care about their neighbors, and genuinely look after each other.

It’s also a place where many exciting things are on the horizon. Fall of this year will be the grand opening of the brand new school, Solana Ranch Elementary. The school will hold about 450 kids to start, and will teach grades pre-k through 6. I cannot tell you how excited the residents are to be able to walk to and from school. Adjacent to the school, the new Gonzales Canyon Neighborhood Park is scheduled to be completed by the end of this year. There is also the Carmel Valley middle school that broke ground on June 6th and is scheduled to open in Fall of 2015. High School age children can attend Torrey Pines High or Canyon Crest, both top rated schools.

In addition to the great schools, the Pacific Highlands Ranch Village Center is under construction and will include a Trader Joe’s, a drug store, and many other shopping and business opportunities. It really will become the center of this great neighborhood.

Another highlight of the community of Pacific Highlands Ranch is the private recreation center for residents. Here, you will find a large lap pool as well as a smaller kid’s pool, water play area, BBQ area, and plenty of tables and chairs for lounging the day away. Next to the pool there is a large room that residents can rent for events and parties. Across from the event room is a newly updated community gym, complete with free weights and cardio equipment. If you are a person who prefers to get exercise outside, there is also a trail system in the canyon right behind the rec center. It’s a great place to spend a couple of hours, or to enjoy on bike.

Since moving here with our family, we’ve created life-long friendships, we’ve made unforgettable memories, and most importantly, we’ve experienced what it truly means to be a part of a thriving community.
