The sun was shining, the music was blasting, and the high school students were working hard to get people to come check out their booths filled with various items. The lure of all the great bargains drew in a large crowd with many people turning up right at opening time to scour out the hottest deals. Big ticket items, such as desks, beds and living room sets were selling quickly and some high school students even helped deliver furniture directly to the buyer’s homes. Talk about great service!!!
After shoppers finished searching out the hottest deals, many chose to head on over to the pancake breakfast station, hosted by the Torrey Pines High School Foundation. The pancake station was definitely a hit amongst the crowd and the grill masters worked hard over the grill flipping over hundreds of pancakes for hungry shoppers. Pancake and sausage platters were being sold for $5.00 a plate with all funds going directly to the students needs, whether it be buying computers or creating student run events. After a long day of bargain shopping and working up an appetite, the pancake breakfast station ended up being the perfect way to unwind and replenish some of that well-spent energy.
In addition, the North San Diego County Association of Realtors hosted “Shred Fest” from 9am-noon. The public was invited to bring up to three boxes of any sensitive documents or paperwork that needed to be shredded, in exchange for a suggested donation of $5.00. This money will also go directly to the students of Torrey Pines High School and will benefit many student programs and activities.
Make sure to check out next year’s 20th Annual Rummage Sale in order to get in on the hottest deals and help support the local community!!!
